"What's all the water?" "That's not water, it's the Founders in goo form."

So I am here!
After a year of waiting and hoping and praying (*breaks into song from My Best Friend's Wedding*, "Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin'...) I'm FINALLY HERE. I and it's not like I expected. It's better.
When we pulled into te driveway, we jumped out of the car, leaving everything where it was, and went in the house. Uncle David was the first there, and he gave me a hug, and over his shoulder, I saw Jonah coming down the stairs. My heart starting beating all fast when I saw them, I was so happy. I missed you guys so much!
And then, it was just like we'd never left last year. We all launched into a game of euchre, and played until Jonah and I won against Nathan and Ellie.
Shortly after arriving, Nate and Jonah informed Ellie and I they had tickets for us to go to this concert with CPC's (Christ Presbyterian Church) Youth Group, which included seeing Marten with his girlfriend Kaylee (awesome to see a now 'old' Marten and meet Kaylee). It was an awesome concert, as well as the first one I'ce been to. It was more like a picnic, and I had a "corndog" (Canadian translation: pogo) and a funnel cake (America's crack at their own beavertail, but it's not as good, of course). The guy who sold Jonah and I the funnel cake thought we were dating, it was pretty funny.
The concert was good, except when the performers got all preachy. We're very glad you've found Christ, and that He loves everyone, but we really came for the music. Sorry.
Today, Jonah had summer gym, but that didn't affect anything becausee everyone was just getting up when he got home at 10 am. It's wierd not getting a jump on teh day like I do during school.

I was worried that things would be wierd, or awkward, since we'd talked only via AIM for a year, but there wasn't, not really. Jonah and I have started taking walks every night, wandering the neighbourhood, talking. It's really nice to just... hang out with them, not doing anything more than listening to the RENT soundtrack, or playing Super Mario Brothers Melee, or whatever. Just sitting, and talking, about whatever. In person. With hugs.
While the walking thing is awesome with Jonah, I really want to find someway to hang with Nate just him and me, because we haven't yet, and I'd really like to.
Upcoming events: Fantastic 4 tomorrow night, Dungeons and Dragons on Wednesday (w00t for nerds!), the so-called-by-Avery "topless" car wash on saturday (loooong story), . Oh, and Zoo on friday! And a party at some point if Jonah would get on it *ahemhinthintahem*

Anyone got a barrel?

I went to Niagara Falls today. It was really fun. First we parked a million miles away from everything and paid an outrageous amount for it, then we went and stared at the Falls for a while, then my mom, my sister and I went on the Maid of the Mist and got those crazy blue rain poncho things. It was awesome.
We had lunch at the hard rock cafe, which was fun (I bought a T-shirt), and we heard about an outlet mall (it was huge) and went shopping. In the middle, Ellie went on thise Drop Zone-esque ride that actually had a WWF theme. Wierd, but Ellie and my mom enjoyed it. I stayed on the ground, with my aunt and cousin.
Speaking of cousins... Comstock Countdown: 1 DAY! Wow, this is actually late enough at night that I will be seeing you guys TOMORROW. I can't believe it. I really can't. It's like a dream, or soemthing.
Meanwhile, I'm having fun with A. She's being very nice. She seems to be a nice person now. Better than at camp, which is awesome.
She's the reason I'm up so late. She's talking to the gut she went out with yesterday on the phone right now, and has been for an hour an a half straight. It's no late! Also: her friends call her all the time. SHe gets at least three calls a night, mininum. How come no one ever calls me. If I talk to people on the phone, it's cause I call them. Things are all different here.
Anyway,I should go to bed, since the cleaining lady will be here in 9 hours and I have to wake up then and move my stuff off the floor so she can clean. More about my trip later!
addendum: I am so excited, because I am going to get manivure/pedicure with Amanda tomorrow. I've never had one before, and it should be fun. I want pink toes! :D

The I heart Switchfoot club

So things have improved with A.

Last night she invited me to go hang out with her and Danielle. They were going to a "gathering of friends" Uh huh, sure. Anyway, I bailed, as we had spent the day at the beach and I was wiped. But it was so nice of her. Totally her idea, no cajoling by my aunt. Apparently I'm not hated.

The beach was awesome. Really nice. I got to tan in my bikini, but I was so tanned on my arms that the rest of me looked so pale. Thank you horse shows. Amanda suggested I wear my bikini to a horse show. (Avery comment right now on your immediate thoughts for me. I started laughing my butt off).

This afternoon A left on a date, and everyone else went to Toys 'R' Us to buy some game that was awesome so they could give them to people. I will not go into detail, as you Comstocks are involved.

Both Amanda's friends came over tonight, and I was allowed to hang with them. In fact, I am writing on A's comp in her room while she sits with her friend Kristin on the bed.

We're listening to Switchfoot. Wierd, I know. I love them, and I never would have taken A to be the religious type. She has a lot of Switchfoot, and other christian music. Funny how people surprise you.

A is stealing her comp back, so I'll write more later. COMSTOCK COUNTDOWN-2 days!!

A paradox: This sentence isn't true

Everyone loves a Canadian girl

C'mon people. It's so true.

So here I am in lovely London, Ontario, on the first leg of my roadtrip. We got here yesterday and hung out. I was slightly apprehensive about coming, as, lets just say, my cousin A and I haven't gotten along well in the past. We had a bad camp Olympia experience. I'm not even going to go into that.

Luckily, when I got here, she was pretty nice. Even talked to me. Sure our conversations started out "So... how was your first year of high school...", but we moved into some pretty good convos for a few minutes while watching my sister swim in their pool from the pool deck.

Later on, A's friend Daniele showed up. We all (the moms and cousins and Danielle) watched Bend it Like Beckham and then A and Danielle went into A's room to talk on msn on her, yes, internet ready labtop. I ended up joining them and hanging out... only A blocked me out. They talked to eachother and let me sit there, only talking to me to ask about whether I knew some guy who went to Mac this year and will be movingto Glebe next year for grade 10. Nice.

I hate being treated like her litle sister. I hate it. I mean, now that I have this awesome friendship with my cousins south of the border, I expect more from my relationship with Amanda, I guess. I never used to care. We used to be like this, only we'd play games together too, you know, like little kids "make believe" games, where we'd use her mom and Dad's old phones and labtops and pretend we were high end business women with amazing boyfriends. It was so fun to hang with my older cousin and pretend I was her equal, just for a while.

And now, nothing. It sucks. I wish she would see I'm not a little kid. I don't know how I proved with to you guys, Nate and Jonah, but I did somehow because you guys don't treat me with polite disintrest the way A does.

She ditched us after the movie (we saw Bewitched after a day of shopping) to go to her friend Kristin's house. Didn't even talk to us between the time she got home and the time she left. Just "Mom, hurry up, I want to get to Kristin's house." I bet she'll spend the night there. w00t.

PS: Nate and Jonah: now you guys get why I think it's so awesome you guys ACTUALLY talk to me? *grim smile*

Canada Day 2

So, I went to teh fireworks with Avery. We went to this hill where we had a clear view. The hill was so nice, we rolled down it and ran back up, falling over one another on the way. As we were doing this, waiting for the fireworks, this little gril started watching us, and we invited her to roll with us. So she joined in.
When we stopped rolling she came up to us and proudly proclaimed "My name is Pedra, and I'm four. I'm from Lebannon" she held up four fingers.
She sat with us while we watched the fireworks. She talked and talked and talked about... everything. At one point she sat up and said "I want a towel to sit on", so Avery and I told ehr she'd half to ask her mom or dad for one. "I don't have a Dad," she said, "I have only a Mommy and my brother. My Daddy is in Lebannon."
We found out she had immigrated with her mom and brother, and her Dad was coming eventually. "I'm going to see him soon, maybe tomorrow," she told us, while leaning against Avery.
Toward the end of the fireworks, she said "I like sitting with people... Because, I never see you! I never see you. Ever."
I looked over at her face, and she was smiling. She had Maple leaf stickers all over her dark face, looking so content. And you know what? That's what Canada is about. People from all over get a new chance at life. Canada Day brings us all together.

Happy Canada Day, eh?

Yes, today is Canada Day. I am Canadian. Therefor one could reason that I might spend the day relaxing, drinking cold drinks and toasting the true north strong and free, perhaps watching the festivities on Parliament Hill from the comfort of my living room. This would normally be pretty acurate.

But no, today, I spent the day cleaning my car and packing for my month-long roadtrip.

Roadtrip! Fun, right? Well, yes. Except, this means me going crazy being worried I've forgotten something and getting poked at by my over-stressed mother. Yeah, fun. Today I alternated between cleaning, packing and reading fanfiction, as well as jsut generally feeling icky. (Icky is a strategic term here, ladies).

Now, it is 9:28 pm. In just over half an hour, there will be amazing, beautiful fireworks on Parliament Hill. Now, Parliament Hill isn't that far from my house, and a a relatively quick bike ride. Why then, am I not downtown? Well, I would be, but you see Avery never called.

O.M.G. Freakiest thing ever. As I wrote "called" the phone rang, and it was Avery! No kidding. We are going to watch teh fireworks from a hill near our houses as we are far too lazy to get our butts downtown.

I have just realized that up until this point, this post has seemd kinda down. But my day wasn't that bad, actually. I read fanfics and am now firmly entrenched in loving all things Royal Handmaiden. (I will most definintley be writing fanfiction :D)

I should go get ready to go to Avery's so we can go to the hill, but first, my vacation plan:

July 2-8 London, Ontario to see Aunt Janet and Amanda
July 8-23 Indianapolis, Indiana to see the Comctocks (COMSTOCK COUNTDOWN 7 DAYS!!!)
July 23-25 Driving to Massachusetts/Gettyburg.
July 25-31 Massachusetts visiting my godfather and his family. They have a new doggie too!

Email me everyone, I will be checking and I REALLY want to hear from you all.
